Access to natural wilderness like National Parks is often problematic for people with disability. And that’s despite the amazing work of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, and many others, in improving pathways and vehicle access to popular areas.
So when we were invited to help raise further funding for work in this area, we took a lateral approach and created Parallel Parks: a virtual-reality-driven experience that brings parks to people who might not be able to get to those parks themselves.
As we described at the time, Parallel Parks was launched in September 2017 with an event in Sydney’s Martin Place. But the work is ongoing as further content is acquired, and so experiences are added.
The following video tells the story so far. And if you’d like to contribute to the continued evolution of the product, you can do just that at parallelparks.com.au
