With the inevitable looming deadline, we were asked to create a campaign to promote XXXX Gold’s sponsorship of Channel Nine’s 2013 Ashes coverage. Several first concepts were presented within one week. By the end of week two, we’d refned everything down to three 30 second brand spots and three 15 second billboard scripts – all ready to go. A few pre-production miracles later, and thanks to a lucky break in the weather during ‘Sydney’s gloomiest week in four years’, plus Michael Slater being brilliant, we shot everything in two days, just. By keeping all production, direction and the majority of post-production in-house, we were able to deliver all six commercials for surprisingly little.
